As multi-term serving GRAMMY Governor, Robin Nixon has interviewed such people as Steve Aoki (DJ/producer and Dim Mak Records founder) live on stage at the GRAMMY Museum, and Garrett Borns (known as Børns) filmed at Recording Academy headquarters in Santa Monica, and performed himself as a DJ for GRAMMY charity events. Being an advocate for the GRAMMY's means that he also attends various events as a guest speaker, panel judge, or maybe simply to report on what talent he discovers in order to assist artists via the Recording Academy. Being a GRAMMY Governor is not all glitz and glamour, there is a lot of unrecognised time, effort and work associated with it.

The Recording Academy represents the voices of performers, songwriters, producers, engineers, and all music professionals. Dedicated to ensuring the recording arts remain a thriving part of our shared cultural heritage, the Academy honors music's history while investing in its future through the GRAMMY Museum, advocates on behalf of music creators, supports music people in times of need through MusiCares, and celebrates artistic excellence through the GRAMMY Awards — music's only peer-recognized accolade and highest achievement. As the world's leading society of music professionals, we work year-round to foster a more inspiring world for creators.

Much of Robin's work is based in Los Angeles, California and there's nothing he likes more than working locally where he will take time out to DJ in DTLA. His other love and passion is Art and this helped him get into caring for the homeless in a big way. He curated an art exhibition in DTLA for Jayme “MOD DIETCH” titled "In The Minds Eye". Jayme developed chronic Bi Polar disorder that led to a spiral of decent into near homelessness. Robin stepped in to stabilize her situation and rescue her from the streets.

With his understanding of her skill and her safe place of ART he gave her a studio, materials and support to rehabilitate her situation through painting. Robin learned about mental health and the fragile mind from this extraordinary experience and went on to form the G.O.A.L. Advocacy a non profit care and outreach program for mentally disabled homeless Women. Now years later he and partner Dennis Davis have rescued hundreds of lives and continues to serve the homeless community of Los Angeles.

With a huge sense of pride and respect for both the GRAMMY's and industry it represents, Robin is a true advocate in supporting all aspects, and in turn demonstrates this continued passion through his own work and by assisting both musical performers and artists from all walks of life. Robin Nixon is surely one of the city's angels.
